Community Conflict Services of Metropolitan St. Louis
HELP.  CHANGE.  KNOWLEDGE.

Community Conflict Services (CCS) is a collaboration of partners who are
committed to using the tools of community mediation, conflict resolution
education and restorative justice practices to build stronger, safer communities.

CCS offers the following services:

COMMUNITY MEDIATION:  a process for individuals or parties to address a dispute by
meeting together.  This conversation is done with the assistance of a neutral third party,
mediators who are trained for this kind of mediation. Loud noise, barking dogs, wild
parties, parking disputes, supervision of disruptive children are examples of issues that
have been successfully resolved.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION EDUCATION:  available for individuals and community groups.  The
course allows for a growth of understanding of one’s own personal communication style.  It
also offers practice in new skills for communicating, looking at conflict, and resolving
conflict.

SCHOOL-BASED RESTORATIVE JUSTICE*: programming addresses conflict in schools
through violence prevention and responsible problem-solving.

CORRECTIONS-BASED RESTORATIVE JUSTICE programming to address the harm caused
to victims of crime and promotes offender accountability.

VICTIM ENGAGEMENT & SUPPORT to ensure that victims have an active voice in repairing
the harm caused to them and feel safe and honored in the restorative justice process.
