In 2008, there

of crime and
violence in the St.
Louis metropolitan
community.
We can help.
CVAC provides the services necessary to help victims of crime throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area reconstruct their lives following the
trauma of victimization. Services include:
- crisis intervention
- counseling
- advocacy
- criminal justice guidance
- information on victim issues and victim rights
- preparation for restorative justice activities
- referral to community resources, and
- assistance filing victim compensation.
CHANGE (Public Advocacy):
CVAC serves as an advocate for public policy change bringing about a more compassionate and fair treatment of victims by the community in
general and by the criminal justice system in particular.
KNOWLEDGE (Training and Technical Assistance):
CVAC provides training and technical assistance to other communities and organizations that seek to improve their responsiveness to crime
victims. We also provide the law enforcement community and criminal justice system with vital information to better serve crime victims.
CVAC and the Crisis Response Team:
Since 1993, CVAC has been a member of the Missouri-NOVA Gateway Regional Crisis Response Team (CRT). CRT has been responding to
crises in the workplace, neighborhoods, organizations and corporations. The CRT now covers the 12 Missouri counties of Pike, Lincoln, Warren,
St. Charles, Franklin, St. Louis County, City of St. Louis, Jefferson, Washington, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve and Perry.
